KARACHI: K-Electric (KE) kept its momentum of customer outreach and community engagement, conducting four separate customer facilitation camps in areas where electricity theft and bill defaults challenge the utility’s resolve to supply uninterrupted supply of electricity. Camps were held at Perfume Chowk, Gulistan-e-Jauhar, P&T Colony in Gizri, Surjani and Machar Colony in Lyari.
“These camps are meant to facilitate the public and help them pay their bills on time while also clearing their outstanding dues,” said Moonis Alvi, KE CEO, who visited the camps in P&T Colony and Perfume Chowk and interacted with the public. “As you are aware, electricity rates are determined by the federal government, and we cannot reduce or increase them but we can ease the payment process. In areas where we face recovery challenges and outstanding dues are piled up, we set up camps to help the public. This is a step towards making the area profile better so that we can ensure uninterrupted supply of electricity there. I urge customers to actively participate and pay their bills on time. The system needs 100 percent of the people to pay 100 percent of their bills on time to keep it running.”
