ISLAMABAD: The government has appointed a senior officer of the Information Group, Ashfaq Ahmad Khalil, as Federal Secretary, Information and Broadcasting.
A notification to this effect has been issued after the approval of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif.
The notification issued by the Cabinet Secretariat Establishment Division stated that Ashfaq Ahmad Khalil, a BS-21 officer of Information Group, presently postedas
Additional Secretary, Information and Broadcasting Division, on deputation basis, is transferred and posted as Secretary, Information and Broadcasting Division, under Section 10 of the Civil Servants Act, 1973, with immediate effect and until further orders.
Khalil was earlier serving as Additional Secretary at the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting. He has served as Director General in the Press Information Department, Peshawar, and as Press Consular at the Pakistan Embassy, Tokyo, Japan.
He has also held various important positions in the Ministry of Information, including in the Directorate of Electronic Media and Publications, PEMRA, Information Service Academy, and the Press Information Department.
