LAHORE: The Lahore Bar Association (LBA) on Thursday took out a rally against 27th amendment which established the Federal Constitutional Court.
The rally was taken out from Aiwan-i-Adl to Charing Cross joined by the members Lahore High Court Bar Association at GPO Chowk Mall Road.
The lawyers termed the amendment an attack on the independence of the judiciary.
President LBA Mubashir Rehman said, “The lawyers’ movement has now begun.” The lawyers’ movement had created a ray of hope, he added.
He also announced that lawyers would take out a rally every Thursday until the amendments is abolished.
The lawyers dispersed peacefully after staying for half an hour at Charing Cross.
