Historical buildings: Governor Punjab commends NCA role in renovation
LAHORE: Governor Punjab Sardar Saleem Haider Khan said that the role of National College of Arts (NCA) in the renovation of Pakistan’s historical buildings is commendable.
"Merit and transparency are top priorities in educational institutions," the governor said while speaking at the exhibition of artworks showcased by students during his visit to the National College of Arts Lahore.
The governor said that the National College of Arts is an ancient and prestigious institution of the country. He said that NCA has produced many renowned artists in Pakistan who have brought glory to the country and nation not only domestically but also internationally.
He further said that the work of Pakistani artists is valued in the world. He said that the role of the National College of Arts in renovating Pakistan's historical buildings is commendable.
He said that students should be brought forward in positive activities through art and craft in educational institutions.
The governor said that artists give a message of peace through their paintings. He said that the works of artists can be highlighted in the world and become a reason for investment in Pakistan.
He further remarked that nurturing the upcoming generations through craft and art is essential. He said that it is the responsibility of the government to encourage teaching and research institutions and provide them with facilities.
"We all have to highlight the work of artists in the world by supporting them," he said.
Principal NCA Professor Murtaza Jafri and senior faculty thanked the Governor of Punjab for his visit to the National College of Arts.
