ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif on Tuesday reaffirmed Pakistan’s commitment to providing every possible facility to the Sikh community, both those residing in the country and those visiting from abroad.
During a meeting with Jasdeep Singh, President of a Sikh community organisation based in the United States, the two discussed the welfare of Sikh pilgrims and the broader Sikh community in Pakistan.
PM Sharif emphasised the importance of maintaining Sikh religious sites in Pakistan, noting that the government takes pride in their upkeep and in offering the necessary facilities for visiting devotees.
He outlined plans to develop a strategy aimed at enhancing the welfare of the Sikh community and improving services for Sikh pilgrims worldwide.
He also acknowledged the contributions of Pakistanis abroad, highlighting their role in the country’s development and global standing.
In response, Singh expressed his gratitude to the Prime Minister and the government for their hospitality and continued support for Sikh pilgrims visiting Pakistan.
