KARACHI: Over-40 T20 World Cup 2025 to be inaugurated on November 21. Governor Sindh Kamran Khan Tessori has praised the efforts to promote veterans’ cricket and sports in the country, saying that experienced players serve as a guiding light for the younger generation.
He expressed these views during a meeting with Chairman, Pakistan Veterans Cricket Association, Fawad Ijaz Khan, here at the Governor House.
Detailed discussions were held regarding the contributions of veterans’ cricket, the promotion of sports in Pakistan, and encouraging positive activities through cricket.
Chairman Fawad Ijaz Khan briefed the Governor on the preparations for the Over-40 T20 World Cup 2025.
It was informed that the opening ceremony of the tournament will be held on 21 November in Karachi, where international veterans’ teams will participate. The ceremony will also feature an impressive fireworks display. A total of 12 countries will participate in the tournament, and 42 matches will be played.
Governor Sindh Kamran Khan Tessori said his best wishes for the successful organization of the tournament. Such global events do play an important role in highlighting Pakistan’s positive image internationally.
