FAISALABAD: Another promise made by Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif to the citizens of Faisalabad is about to be fulfilled and a big gift in the transport sector for the people of Faisalabad.

27 metro buses/ two trams are ready to run on the 20-km Orange Line from Faisal Town Jaranwala Road to Tahirpura Jhang Road, and the Punjab CM will soon perform the groundbreaking of the project.

He said that the metro/tram Orange Line service will provide a great convenience to citizens in transportation and thousands of passengers will travel daily.

Member Punjab Mass Transit Authority/Former Chief Secretary Punjab Captain Zahid Saeed (retd) presided over the meeting along with Commissioner Faisalabad Raja Jahangir Anwar and provided complete information about the project.

The meeting was informed that the mega project PC-1 has been approved, according to which 22 stations, two deepo and 6 U-turns will be built on the Metro Bus Orange Line.

Member Mass Transit Authority and Commissioner Faisalabad has urged WASA, FESCO, Sui Gas, PHA, Municipal Corporation and Traffic Police to take immediate steps to transfer utility services as per the alignment. He added that a meeting should be held next week to determine timelines for the transfer of utility services.

He said that residents of communities adjacent to the route should be made aware in a timely manner of the temporary shutdown of services during the transfer of utility services. Deputy Commissioner Nadeem Nasir, MD Mass Transit Authority Talha and officers of relevant departments participated.
