Security issues in Asia: Pakistan, Russia holds inaugural consultations
ISLAMABAD: Pakistan and Russia held the inaugural consultations on security issues in Asia and the two sides looked into regional security dynamics, and the areas of enhanced cooperation.
According to a statement issued by the Foreign Office on Friday Mr. Aleksei Ovchinnikov, DG for Asia & Pacific Cooperation (Russia MFA), met Tahir Andrabi, Additional Foreign Secretary (ACDIS) and spokesperson. The meeting made “substantive exchanges on regional security dynamics, emerging alliances, and areas for enhanced cooperation.”
DG Ovchinnikov also called on Amb Imran Siddiqui, Additional Foreign Secretary (Asia Pacific), and met with Amb Sohail Mahmood, Director General, and Institute of Strategic Studies Islamabad. Pakistan values its cooperative ties with Russia and remains committed to dialogue-driven approaches that advance regional peace and stability.
