LAHORE: A five-member Chinese delegation led by CEO of Huizhou Honghai Industrial Development Patrick Zheng visited the Lahore Chamber of Commerce and Industry and held a meeting with LCCI President Faheem Ur Rehman Saigol to discuss prospects for Joint Ventures, B2B cooperation, and industrial collaboration in Pakistan.

Patrick Zheng, who also serves as Executive Vice President of Zhengjia International Group shared his company’s experience in industrial park development, vehicle manufacturing, and lithium battery production, and expressed strong interest in partnering with Pakistani businesses in these areas.

LCCI President Faheem Ur Rehman Saigol welcomed the delegation and said that Pakistan highly values its economic partnership with China, which has always been a key driver of industrial and infrastructure growth. He emphasized that LCCI is fully committed to facilitating business linkages, encouraging joint ventures, and helping expand trade and investment between the two countries. He added that such interactions play a vital role in promoting technology transfer, creating employment, and boosting industrial productivity in Pakistan.

LCCI Vice President Khurram Lodhi said that China is Pakistan’s largest and most trusted business partner, and the friendship between the people of both countries is truly exceptional. He expressed hope that the visit by Patrick Zheng and his team would lead to tangible cooperation in manufacturing, clean energy, and industrial development.

Executive Committee Members Iftikhar Ahmed and Amir Ali were also present at the meeting. Both sides agreed to strengthen coordination and promote Business-to-Business (B2B) engagement to further enhance Pakistan-China economic relations and investment collaboration.

Meanwhile, President of the Pakistan China Joint Chamber of Commerce and Industry (PCJCCI), Nazir Hussain said Pakistan and China are strengthening their bilateral relationship by embracing cultural diversity as a cornerstone for economic growth and sustainable development.

He expressed these views during a think tank session held at the PCJCCI Secretariat. He emphasized that this renewed focus on cultural exchange will not only enhance people-to-people connectivity but also open new avenues for trade, investment, and long-term cooperation between the two nations.

President Nazir Hussain highlighted that under the framework of the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC), cultural collaboration is increasingly being recognized as a vital complement to infrastructure and trade initiatives. Through joint art exhibitions, educational exchange programs, culinary festivals, and tourism campaigns, both countries are leveraging cultural diplomacy to foster mutual understanding and durable partnerships.

Brig Mansoor Saeed Sheikh (R), Senior Vice President PCJCCI, said that by sharing traditions, languages, and values, Pakistan and China are building a foundation of trust that strengthens trade relations, boosts tourism, and encourages cross-sector creativity.

He further said that China’s advancements in cultural industries, digital innovation, and vocational training present immense opportunities for Pakistan in skills enhancement and entrepreneurship.

Meanwhile, Pakistan’s vibrant cultural heritage - from Sufi music and Mughal architecture to regional handicrafts and cuisine — offers unique attractions for Chinese investors and tourists seeking authentic experiences.

Zafar Iqbal, Vice President PCJCCI, shared that, according to the Pakistan Tourism Development Corporation (PTDC), Chinese cultural tourism to Pakistan could grow by up to 40 percent annually if supported by strategic campaigns and infrastructure development. Similarly, trade in cultural products and a service between the two countries has the potential for significant expansion with policy and digital support.

Salahuddin Hanif, Secretary General PCJCCI, concluded that the deepening cultural partnership between Pakistan and China illustrates how economic growth and cultural understanding go hand in hand. As both nations move forward, their shared commitment to cultural diversity will continue to serve as a strategic pillar for mutual prosperity and sustainable progress.
