ISLAMABAD: Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi on Wednesday said that players of the Sri Lankan cricket team are Pakistan’s state guests and that all necessary measures have been taken to ensure their foolproof security during their current tour.

Naqvi, who also serves as chairman of the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB), stated this during a meeting with Sri Lankan High Commissioner Rear Admiral Fred Siriweera (Retd).

He assured the Sri Lankan High Commissioner that providing a safe and secure environment for the visiting players is the top priority of the government.

The Sri Lankan High Commissioner expressed satisfaction over the security arrangements and thanked the Pakistani authorities for their cooperation and hospitality.
