KALAT: At least six people, including a local tribal leader, were shot dead by unidentified gunmen in two incidents in Kalat and Panjgour of Balochistan, officials said on Saturday.

The first firing incident took place in the Mangocher area near Kalat, in which four tribal leaders died when some unidentified assailants opened fire on them.

According to the district administration, the dead tribal leaders were Saadullah Langu and his brother Khair Ullah, and two other persons were identified as Mohammad Karim and Mohammad Tahir.

The district administration further revealed that an investigation is underway to determine the real cause behind these gruesome murders.

The second firing incident occurred in Panjgour, in which two people died. The district administration said that the names of the dead persons are Mohammad Zafar and Naeem.

The district administration is trying to detect the cause behind these murders.

Quetta Commissioner Shahzaib Kakar presided over a special meeting of the Divisional Monitoring Committee.

During the meeting, the Commissioner directed to update the list of the Fourth Schedule. He was also directed to complete the profiling of terrorists.

The participants of the meeting decided to assign a security task to the relevant departments to strengthen the security database. The meeting decided to start a crackdown against all those persons who possess illegal weapons. The Commissioner decided to take disciplinary action against all those teachers who are absent for a long time.
