ISLAMABAD: President Asif Ali Zardari on Saturday appointed Sahibzada Ahmad Khan as a Member of the Federal Public Service Commission (FPSC) for a three-year term.

The Establishment Division also issued a notification regarding his appointment. Sahibzada Ahmad Khan is a retired officer of Grade-21 of the Pakistan Foreign Service.

It is necessary to mention here that the Auditor General’s office raised objections over the Federal Public Service Commission’s (FPSC) failure to appoint members from the private sector.

During a meeting of the Public Accounts Committee (PAC), the audit officials pointed out that the absence of private sector representation deprived the FPSC of professional expertise.

Instead, two additional members were posted in vacant seats in violation of its ordinance.
