LAHORE: The Lahore Development Authority has denied reports on social media regarding the death of animals and birds during the operation at Bhati Gate, saying they are unfounded and fabricated.
“Prior to the operation, the LDA teams and the Town Emergency and Planning Authority (TEPA), in collaboration with shopkeepers, successfully relocated goods, including birds and animals,” said the LDA spokesperson on Friday, adding that the negative comments circulating on social media are intended to attract ratings and viewership.
He said a few days ago, LDA, TEPA, Auqaf, and the district administration conducted an operation to clear 16 kanals of government land. “Before the operation commenced, LDA and TEPA teams assisted shopkeepers in safely moving their goods and animals. Videos released by the LDA clearly show their efforts to help during the relocation process. Therefore, any claims regarding the death of animals and birds are entirely untrue,” he added.
