Coca-Cola Foundation contributes USD130,000 to flood-hit areas
ISLAMABAD: A leading beverage company and its welfare foundation contributed USD 130,000 to flood affected individuals beside delivery of meals and ration in Punjab, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, and Gilgit-Baltistan.
Details released by the company on Thursday revealed that the Coca-Cola Foundation, the Coca Cola Systems including Coca Cola beverages Pakistan provided USD 130,000, alongside Rizq’s teams to ensure swift and effective distribution, with a special focus on isolated communities as winter approaches.
The Coca-Cola Foundation and the Coca-Cola system, in partnership with Rizq, aim to deliver over 550,000 meals to flood-affected communities in Punjab, KP, and Gilgit-Baltistan.
The drive includes 3,000 food ration hampers (with flour, rice, oil, sugar and lentils) to feed families for one month. A community Dastarkhwan is serving meals safely, alongside the distribution of more than 100,000 servings of drinking water. Selected communities are also receiving blankets, bedding, and feminine hygiene kits to support affected families.
The Coca-Cola Foundation has provided USD 100,000, while an additional USD 30,000 has been contributed by the Coca-Cola system, including Coca-Cola Beverages Pakistan Limited (CCI Pakistan), the company’s Turkish bottling partner in Pakistan. Volunteers from the Coca-Cola system are working alongside Rizq’s teams to ensure swift and effective distribution, with a special focus on isolated communities as winter approaches.
