Police have registered a case against Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) leader and Sindh Local Government Minister Saeed Ghani’s brother, Farhan Ghani, who also serves as Chairman of Chanesar Town, along with several others, officials confirmed on Sunday, Aaj News reported.
The FIR, lodged at Ferozabad Police Station, includes charges of assault, rioting, attempted murder, issuing serious threats, and Section 7 of the Anti-Terrorism Act (ATA).
According to the complainant, Hafiz Suhail Ahmed Judoon, he was supervising optical fibre cable work when a group of 20-25 people allegedly arrived at the site, misbehaved, and subjected him to violence. The FIR names Farhan Ghani, Qamar Ahmed Khan, Shakeel Chandio, Sikandar, and Rohan among the accused.
Reacting to the development, Minister Saeed Ghani said in a post on X that a scuffle had taken place and that lodging an FIR was the complainant’s legal right. He added that his brother and the other accused had surrendered to the police and would prove their innocence in court.
Following the registration of the case, Farhan Ghani and other nominated suspects appeared at the Ferozabad Police Station late Saturday night and formally surrendered themselves.
