LAHORE: The Punjab police have taken into custody the second son of Aleema Khan and nephew of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) founder Imran Khan on Friday over alleged involvement in the May 9 incidents.
The PTI, on its official X handle, said that after Shahrez Khan, Aleema Khan’s other son, Shershah Khan, has also been abducted. “This is straight fascism under the Form 47 government; both of them (Shahrez Khan and Shershah Khan) are facing this because they are Imran Khan’s nephews,” it added.
It may be noted the development came only a day after Shahrez Khan, brother of Shershah Khan, was arrested in connection with the Jinnah House attack case.
Meanwhile, according to SSP (Investigation) Muhammad Naveed, Shershah was arrested in connection with the violent protests that erupted on May 9 following the arrest of the PTI founder. Police maintain that he played a role in the unrest that led to attacks on public and military properties across Lahore and other parts of the country.
