COLOMBO: Sri Lankan shares closed higher on Wednesday, aided by financials and consumer discretionary stocks.

The CSE All-Share index settled 0.90% higher at 11,701.64.

Sri Lanka’s central bank cut interest rates by 25 basis points on Wednesday, in a surprise decision aimed at spurring economic recovery following the country’s worst financial crisis in decades.
