Ugandan shilling steady; to ease due to commercial bank FX demand

KAMPALA: The Ugandan shilling was steady, although it was forecast to weaken in the days ahead due to increased demand from commercial banks anticipating a further weakening of the local currency, traders said.

Uganda shilling stable in quiet trade

At 0930 GMT, commercial banks quoted the shilling at 3,885/3,895, compared with Tuesday’s closing rate of 3,880/3,890.
