European stock markets climb before Fed rate call

LONDON: Europe’s main stock markets grew at the start of trading on Wednesday with all eyes on the Federal Reserve, later expected to freeze US interest rates.

London’s benchmark FTSE 100 index gained 0.3 percent to 7,343.96 points.

In the eurozone, Frankfurt’s DAX index climbed 0.2 percent to 14,844.80 points and the Paris CAC 40 won 0.3 percent to 6,905.67.
