KARACHI: The upcoming Pakistan Auto Show, to be held in Karachi from October 27-29, is set to feature over 150 companies, including a number of Chinese firms and Iranian automotive parts manufacturers.

Speaking at a press briefing held at Karachi Expo Center, Zain Shariq, convener of Pakistan Association of Automotive Parts & Accessories Manufacturers (PAAPAM) said that this will mark the first time that major industry associations like APTMA and PASPEDA participate in the exhibition to encourage greater interaction between different sectors of the economy.

Several prominent local and international companies will be showcasing latest innovations at the event, including Honda, SITECH, Crown Group, HACPL, and Ayesha Steel from Pakistan and multiple Chinese and Iranian auto parts makers marking their debut.

Leading governmental bodies and industry entities like Engineering Development Board, Ministry of Commerce, SMEDA, PASPIDA, GDA, TMA, PAK Wheel, and others have also extended their support for this major initiative aimed at ‘Synergizing Pakistan’.

“The show is themed around ‘Synergizing Pakistan’ and the aim is to highlight the hidden assets of the country in terms of value addition and manufacturing,” said Zain Shariq.

A symposium on ‘Synergizing Pakistan’ featuring prominent academics and industry experts will also be held on October 28 to discuss challenges and growth opportunities for the country’s manufacturing sector.

Zain further said that the local auto vendor industry is among Pakistan’s strongest and most globally competitive manufacturing segments, already exporting goods worth $200 million to 57 countries. He stated that based on 21-22 data, PAAPAM members facilitate import substitution worth $4 billion annually.

The Pakistan Auto Show aims to bring together major stakeholders to unlock the country’s automotive potential. With over 150 companies on board, the exhibition is expected to highlight Pakistan’s manufacturing capabilities and boost business linkages.
