KARACHI: Sindh Revenue Board (SRB) on Friday sealed the business premises of the M/s Farhan Biryani Centre, located in Gulistan-e-Johar, due to tax evasion and non-compliance.

The restaurant’s repeated failure to adhere to the provisions of the Sindh Sales Tax on Services Act, 2011, and its refusal to pay due taxes to the Sindh exchequer led to this strict measure.

The SRB, acting under the authority of Section 54B of the Sindh Sales Tax on Services Act, exercised its powers to hold the business accountable for its tax-related violations.

The closure of the restaurant’s premises was carried out in a joint operation with the assistance of law enforcement agency, highlighting the seriousness with which the authorities are addressing tax evasion and non-compliance issues in the region.

Over recent times, the M/s Farhan Biryani Centre had consistently flouted the tax laws and regulations, failing to fulfil its obligations to the government.

Despite repeated warnings and notices from the SRB to rectify its non-compliant status, the establishment remained negligent, prompting the board to take definitive action to protect the interests of the Sindh exchequer.
