British CGS praises Pakistan's armed forces' sacrifices in fight against terrorism

  • COAS and British CGS discuss regional security issues and matters of mutual interest

The Chief of General Staff of the UK Army, General Sir Patrick Nicholas Yardley Monrad Sanders, met with the Chief of Army Staff (COAS), General Syed Asim Munir at General Headquarters (GHQ) on Wednesday and commended the efforts and sacrifices of the Pakistan Army in bringing peace and stability to the region as well as the fight against terrorism.

The CGS UK Army laid a floral wreath at Yadgar-e-Shuhada upon arriving at the GHQ, according to an Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) press release.

A smartly turned-out contingent of the Pakistan Army presented the guard of honour to the visiting dignitary.

During the meeting, regional security issues and matters of mutual interest were discussed, the press release added.

Earlier, the CGS UK had also called on the Chairman Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee, General Sahir Shamshad Mirza at Joint Staff Headquarters, Rawalpindi.
