Hong Kong stocks rise at open

HONG KONG: Hong Kong stocks opened higher on Tuesday following a long weekend holiday despite losses on Wall Street as investors weighed the takeover of First Republic Bank.

The Hang Seng Index rose 1.15 percent, or 228.33 points, to 20,122.90.

Hong Kong shares open higher

Mainland Chinese markets were closed for a holiday.
