LAHORE: Faran Tahir, director of a leading Pakistani seed company, has been elected as the youngest ever member of the Executive Committee of the Asia and Pacific Seed Alliance (APSA) during the 27th Annual Seed Congress held recently in Thailand.

Asia Pacific Seed Alliance is an organization of 65+ countries that serves as the think tank for the global seed industry.

Only less than a dozen countries sit on the board and it is an honour for Pakistan to be on the board again carrying the legacy set by Haji Sons’ managing Director Tahir Saleemi, said a company statement here on Monday.

Stakeholders termed it a great honour for not only Haji Sons but also the whole of Pakistan and especially the local seed industry. Farhan Tahir is the youngest in the History of APSA and broke all previous records at 26 years of age.
