Need stressed for promotion of business with Kazakhstan

ISLAMABAD: National Assembly Speaker Raja Pervaiz Ashraf said that the business communities of Pakistan and Kazakhstan should promote trade and investment by exploring investment opportunities to further improve trade relations.

Ambassador of Kazakhstan to Pakistan Yerzhan Kistafin, Tuesday, called on Speaker National Assembly at the Parliament House.

The matters related to enhancing trade, relaxing visa policy, expanding parliamentary cooperation and support for National Assembly (NA) call for global funds through Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU) to combat climate catastrophe were discussed in the meeting.

The speaker while welcoming the ambassador remarked that Pakistan attaches great significance to its ties with Kazakhstan, a key Central Asian country which shares mutual vision of regional cooperation.

He said that parliamentary diplomacy could play a vibrant role in expanding mutual cooperation.

He said that parliamentarians on both sides can promote existing bilateral ties through mutual contact. He mentioned that Pak-Kazakh Friendship Group in the NA is actively working to expand relations between the parliaments of both countries.

The speaker said that there is a huge economic potential that needs to be explored for the mutual benefit of both countries.

Speaker highlighted that Pakistan was witnessing unprecedented climate challenges and to combat this colossal challenge NA has moved an emergency item for 145th IPU Assembly in Rwanda from October 11-15, 2022.

He added that a letter and resolution on the same had been sent to chairman with a request to support Pakistan's stance in the forthcoming conference. He also shared the letter and the resolution with the ambassador.

The ambassador, while appreciating the speaker for the warm reception expressed solidarity for flood affectees and shared a condolence letter on the same from the Chair of the Mazhilis.

He appreciated friendly ties between two nations and assured of future collaboration in diverse sectors.
