Korangi Causeway Bridge: KATI members praise CM for prompt action

KARACHI: Korangi Association of Trade and Industry (KATI) patron-in-chief S M Muneer, Association president Salman Aslam and KITE Limited CEO Zubair Chhaya expressed gratitude for the orders to construct the new Korangi Causeway Bridge by Sindh Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah.

Muneer said that Sindh chief minister gave orders to prepare a six-lane bridge, which was a long-standing problem in the industrial area. The existing causeway gets flooded during the rainy season, due to which the flow of traffic from Korangi Industrial Area is badly affected and the citizens suffer from traffic jams for many hours.

He said the bridge being constructed at a cost of five billion rupees will increase the economic activity of the Korangi Industrial Area, which is needed desperately.

President KATI Salman Aslam said that after the rains, the delivery of export goods from the Korangi Industrial Area through the existing causeway used to be disrupted, due to which the industrialists had to bear heavy losses. He said that KATI had been demanding an alternative route for a long time, which was resolved by the Sindh government.

He appreciated the orders given by the Sindh chief minister to complete the bridge soon and said that it is good that the Sindh government to prioritising the problems of the industrialists.

President KATI said that this decision will not only benefit the Korangi Industrial Area but also the economy immensely.

KITE Limited CEO Zubair Chhaya expressed hope that the new Korangi Causeway Bridge would be completed in time so that the problem of traffic jam would be resolved.

He said that the construction of this new bridge will reduce the traffic load on Qayyumabad Bridge and other alternative routes.

This will enable employees to commute to perform their duties and transportation of goods in the industrial area to reach their destination on time.
