Renewable energy sector: US, UAE, Israel ready to fund India to become global hub

ISLAMABAD: The United States of America (USA), United Arab Emirates (UAE) and Israel are ready to fund India to become global hub for alternate supply chains in the renewable energy sector.

Information available with Business Recorder revealed that the first Summit of I2U2 group (Israel, India, UAE, and USA) was convened on July 25, 2022. The I2U2 bloc has its focus on joint investments on mutually identified areas like water, energy, space, health, food security etc.

One of the important outcome areas of this Summit was Clean Energy investment in India. I2U2 has announced to advance hybrid Renewable Energy in Gujarat state of India which would consist of 300 MW wind and solar capacity and a battery storage system.

A study has been funded by US Trade and Development Authority (TDA) to ascertain the feasibility of this project with an outlay of $ 330 million.
