KARACHI: Gold prices on Monday hit a record high in the local market, despite a fall in the precious metal’s value globally, traders said.
Up by Rs 700, gold was traded for Rs 136,600 per tola, which is an all-time high price of the precious metal on the local market.
Gold per 10 grams also shot up to a new high of Rs 117,112 on the first day of the week.
On the world market, the yellow metal prices were quoted for $1799 per ounce.
Silver prices remained at Rs 1,560 per tola and Rs 1,337.44 per 10 grams, traders said.
