HAMBURG: Turkey’s state grain board TMO has started making provisional purchases of wheat in its international tender to import 245,000 tonne of wheat on Wednesday, with about 210,000 tonnes initially bought in a local tender, traders said.

The first purchases in the import tender were said to be two 25,000 tonne consignments of 12.5% protein wheat at an estimated $434.90 a tonne c&f for shipment to the port of Bandirma and at $436.80 a tonne c&f for shipment to the port of Tekirdag, both from trading house Ulusoy, traders said.

The tonnages purchased in TMO’s tenders are provisional and still subject to final confirmation in coming days. Purchases can be reduced or cancelled completely.
