ISLAMABAD: Special Assistant to Prime Minister on Climate Change Amin Aslam, Thursday, said Pakistan is ready to reduce carbon emissions by half by 2030. Addressing a presser, he said, Pakistan will reduce carbon emissions by 15 percent utilising indigenous resources and 35 percent through international community's support.

"We have presented this plan to the world," Aslam said. Pakistan has already reduced its emissions by nine percent as a result of tangible steps including 10 Billion Tree Tsunami Programme.

Aslam said the government had also updated its Climate Change Policy and approved National Wildlife Policy to deal with environmental issues.

He said the wildlife policy has been framed in consultation with the provinces. The wildlife would be protected by involving the local people, he added.
