FAISALABAD: Faisalabad Chamber of Commerce & Industry (FCCI) and Pakistan Turkey Business Forum (PTBF) have inked a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to enhance bilateral trade between the two countries.

In this connection a simple function was held in FCCI in which Engineer Hafiz Ihtasham Javed President FCCI and Farooq Afzal President PTBF signed the document on behalf of their respective organizations.

Exchanging the MoU documents Engineer Hafiz Ihtasham Javed said that Pakistan and Turkey have long standing friendly relations but we could not fully exploit the available trade potential. He said that under this MoU direct links between the business communities of the two countries would be strengthened so that cooperation in trade, education, health, culture and other sectors could be enhanced.

He underlined the importance of the SME sector and said that cooperation in this field would be especially encouraged to harvest early and positive results. He said that as per the clauses of MoU both organizations would collaborate to organize seminars, symposiums and conferences to highlight the untapped trade potential of the two countries.

He further said that exchange of trade and industrial delegations would also be encouraged while information regarding import and export potential of the two countries would also be shared. FCCI and PTBF would also convince business communities to launch joint ventures for the benefit of the two countries.

The joint meetings of FCCI and PTBF would be held alternately in each country to discuss the issues relating to the promotion of bilateral cooperation. Farooq Afzal President PTBF thanked Engineer Hafiz Ihtasham Javed and hoped that this MoU will open new avenues of cooperation between the two countries.-PR
