Punjab: Firdous Ashiq resigns

LAHORE: Special Assistant to the Chief Minister of Punjab on Information and Broadcasting Dr Firdous Ashiq Awan has resigned from her post on Friday.

She sent her resignation letter to Punjab Chief Minister Punjab Sardar Usman Buzdar, which was duly accepted. As per the CM Office's spokesperson, the Chief Minister accepted the resignation tendered by Dr Firdous Ashiq Awan.

Meanwhile, the Punjab government has decided to expand the Punjab Cabinet by appointing PTI leader Asad Khokar as provincial minister. In this connection, the Punjab government issued a notification.

It may be recalled that Khokhar was elected as Member of the Punjab Assembly on PP-168 seat vacated by former Railway Minister Khawaja Saad Rafique. He was appointed as provincial minister for Fisheries and Wildlife in December 2019, but after six months he resigned from his post to focus on his constituency.
