Value-added textile sector: Dawood assures to resolve problems

FAISALABAD: Adviser to the Prime Minister on Commerce and Textiles and Investment Abdul Razzaq Dawood assured to solve all the problems of the value-added textile sector in the Zoom meeting today.

The DLTL scheme for the textile sector will be continued next year and a notification will be issued in a few days. Mian Farrukh Iqbal Senior Vice Chairman Pakistan Hosiery Manufacturers and Exporters Association said that refunds of DLTL should also be made on auto system like customs rebate so that refunds of exporters can be paid on time.

Abdul Razzaq Dawood Sahib in reply said that we are already working on automation system and its implementation will start soon. He said that he was trying to get Rs 50 billion sanctioned for DLTL next year while Rs 10 billion for previous DLTL refunds would be released in next few days.

Chaudhry Salamat Ali Group Leader Former Central Chairman PHMA said that the government should immediately ban the export of yarn and forensic audit of yarn sellers should be done immediately so that the shortage of yarn in the country could be eliminated. He said that sale of yarn without invoice should also be stopped.

He further said that textile policy has not been issued yet. In reply, Abdul Razzaq Dawood said that textile policy will be issued next month.—PR
