Toyota Indus Motors (IMC) officially launched the Toyota Corolla Cross in Pakistan on April 10. The vehicle comes with three variants, Premium, Smart, and Low (Base), each differing the other in specifications and price range. This article provides a comparison of these three variants in order to help our readers make an informed decision.

Exterior

Most of the exterior features are the same for all three variants. The Premium and Smart versions of the subcompact SUV are fitted with LED Projector headlights, while the Base variant comes with Halogen Projector headlamps. However, all three variants have the ‘Follow me Home’ feature, which means that the lights will remain on for a few seconds after switching off the engine.

Meanwhile, all variants of the vehicle feature LED DRLs and Front Fog Lamps. The smart entry options are also the same for all three variants. Similarly, all variants have 17-inch Alloy Wheels installed, followed by Ventilated Disc Brakes (Front) and Disc Brake (Rear).

However, the top two variants have a smart Front Wipers system with an auto rain sensor, while the Low variant has standard wipers.

Interior

When it comes to interior design, all three variants have Electronic Power Steering (EPS) with Steering Controls. However, the Premium and Smart variants have the mileage with an Extra Button of Cruise Control. Similarly, the first two versions are fitted with 8-inch Touchscreen, while the last one has a standard audio system. About Air-conditioner, the top two have Dual Zone Auto AC, while the base version has a Single Auto Zone with Rear AC vents.

Coming to seating, the Driver’s Seat of the Premium and Smart variants is 6-way electric powered, while the passenger seats are manual. Meanwhile, both driver’s and passengers’ seat are manually adjustable in Base variant. Further, only Premium variant has the luxury of Moonroof and Leather Seats, the other two variants have fabric seats.

Engine & Transmission

Nothing much has been done about the engine and transmission. All three variants of the Hybrid SUV are fitted with a 1798cc 3ZR-FEX (Hybrid) engine and a CVT Transmission. The car’s engine power 71hp, the torque is 142Nm, and Electric Motor Torque is 163Nm. Hence, the engine produces a combined horsepower of is 168hp and a combined torque of 305Nm.

Safety

The most talked-about feature of Toyota Cross SUV was its seven-airbags safety feature. However, facility is available in only the first two variants of the vehicle while the Base variant has standard two airbags. Besides, all three have ABS +EBD + Brake Assist, Vehicle Stability Control, Back Parking Sensors and Hill Start Assist. The Premium and Smart version also have Front Parking Sensors.

Price Range

With all its sleek and cutting-edge design, safety features and interior comfort, the Premium version costs Rs.83,99,000, while the Smart version costs Rs.81,99,000. The Base variant of the vehicle is available for booking at Rs.76,89,000, with supplies starting from July 10, 2021.
