Brazil farmers sell record 71.76mn tonne of 2020/2021 soybean crop

SAO PAULO: Brazilian farmers have sold a record 71.76 million tonnes of their 2020/2021 soybean crop in advance, corresponding to 53.4% of the estimated output for the current planting cycle, according to agribusiness consultancy Datagro on Friday.

Growers have also sold 97.2% of their first-corn crop from the Center South region relative to the 2019/2020 cycle, well above the 88% seen at the same time last year given good prices. Brazil's Center South farmers have also pre-sold 21.2% of their new first-corn crop for 2020/21 which is being sowed now.
