US dollar hits 5-month low against Pakistani Rupee

The US dollar hits a 5-month low against the Pakistani Rupee at the interbank market, as the greenback depreciated further by 45 paisas on the last day of the trading week.

According to data released by the State Bank of Pakistan, the dollar depreciated further by 45 paisas at the interbank market reducing its value from Rs 161.82 to Rs 161.37.

It should be noted that the dollar has been depreciating in the interbank market for the past several days. The dollar closed at Rs 163.87 on the interbank market on October 13, while at the end of this week it closed at Rs 161.37.

During this period, the value of US currency in the interbank market has decreased by Rs. 2.50.

Meanwhile, in the open market, PKR gained 50 paisas for both buying and selling rates closing at 161.50 and 161.80 respectively.

Against Euro, PKR went up by 50 paisas for both buying and selling closing at 190 and 191.50 respectively. Against UAE Dirham, PKR went up by 5 paisas for buying and 15 paisas for selling closing at 44.20 and 44.40 respectively.

And against Saudi Riyal, PKR gained 20 paisas for both buying and selling closing at 42.70 and 42.90 respectively.
