(Karachi) In a bid to address deforestation and increase green cover in the country, a technology company, ForresOn, has taken the first step to plant trees using drones in different cities. The company is collaborating with SAARC and Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa government to take forward the initiative.

As per details, ForresOn, a Islamabad based company that specializes in creating large self-flying drones for forestation & precision-agriculture purposes, have built a fleet of giant self-flying drones capable of planting thousands of trees in a single day.

The drones have been designed keeping in view hilly and inaccessible areas where the manual plantation isn’t viable.

As part of the process, seed pods are fired on the ground with the help of drones to ensure maximum germination and growth. Besides, the company's drones are also used to spray trees, plants, and crops with the exact amount of fertilizers, pesticides and water.

In addition, the locally manufactured drones also monitors the life-cycle, growth, height, and health of trees on a regular basis.
