Asim Bajwa resigns as PM's advisor on Information

Chairman of the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) Authority, Lt General (retd) Asim Saleem Bajwa has announced that Prime Minister Imran Khan has accepted his resignation as his aide on information and Broadcasting,

In a tweet today, he said he asked the PM to relinquish him from the additional portfolio of SAPM on Information and Broadcasting. "He very kindly approved my request," he said.

In September, Bajwa refuted news reports that he had used his offices in setting up off-shore businesses of his wife, sons and brothers.

Refuting these reports, Bajwa took to his Twitter handle and wrote that he possessed all the documents about his family’s assets and was ready to present them and the money trail before any judicial forum.

Later, he also announced his decision to step down as Special Assistant to the PM on Information and Broadcasting. However, the PM had refused his resignation, saying that he was satisfied with the evidence and explanation presented by Bajwa.
