Canadian canola futures rise

13 Sep, 2020

WINNIPEG: ICE Canadian canola futures rose on Thursday, lifted by concerns about frost damage to Canadian crops.

The frost concerns may be overdone, as much canola in Manitoba was mature enough to withstand damage, a trader said, adding that farmers may be reluctant to sell, adding further price strength.

In the Canadian province of Saskatchewan, 23% of canola was harvested, and overall crop production was ahead of the usual pace.

November canola added $4.40 to $509.80 per tonne.
