Six injured as building collapses in Lahore

(Karachi) Six people suffered injuries after roof of a private bank building collapsed in Lahore's Chauburji Friday afternoon, media reported.

As per details, at least 15 people were working in the bank when the roof suddenly collapsed after an explosion. Seven people were rushed to the Services Hospital where condition of two is said to be critical.

Several cars and motorcycles parked outside the building have also been damaged.

Police said that an explosion occurred because of a gas leak after which the building collapsed. He added the incident occurred when Friday prayers were being offered. Meanwhile, further probe into the incident is underway.

Earlier, three people were killed and five injured after an under-construction building collapsed in Lahore. Five people were rescued and shifted to a hospital.

The incident took place in Minawala. The two-storey building was constructed with low quality materials.
