KARACHI: On Wednesday, Pakistan Rupee lost value against USD in both interbank and open markets. It also lost value in open market against AED and SR while going up against Euro for selling rate.

INTER-BANK MARKET RATES: In the interbank market, Pakistan Rupee lost 5 paisas for both buying and selling against USD over yesterday's rates closing at 168.35 and 168.45 respectively.

OPEN MARKET RATES: In the open market, PKR lost 20 paisas for both buying and selling against USD over yesterday's rates closing at 168.70 and 169 respectively.

Against Euro, PKR remained unchanged for buying while gaining 50 paisas for selling over yesterday's rates closing at 198.50 and 199.50 respectively.

Against UAE Dirham, PKR lost 10 paisas for both buying and selling closing at 45.70 and 45.90 respectively.

Against Saudi Riyal, PKR lost 5 paisas for both buying and selling closing at 44.55 and 44.70 respectively.

RUPEE IN LAHORE: The Pak rupee appreciated its worth on the buying side while it stayed unchanged on the selling side in relation to the greenback in the local currency market on Wednesday.

According to currency dealers, the greenback showed strength as it gained 20 paisas for buying at Rs 168.50 against the opening rate of Rs 168.30 whereas it did not observe any change for selling and firmly closed at Rs 169.50.

On the other hand, the rupee failed to hold its strength and depreciated its worth against the pound sterling. As a result, the pound's buying and selling rates rose from Tuesday's closing of Rs 219.50 and Rs 221.00 to Rs 220.00 and Rs 221.80 respectively, they added.

RUPEE IN ISLAMABAD AND RAWALPINDI: The dollar gained 20 paisas against the rupee at the open currency markets of Islamabad and Rawalpindi here on Wednesday.

The dollar opened at Rs169 (buying) and Rs 169.10(selling) against last rate of Rs168.80(buying) and Rs 168.90(selling).

It closed at Rs169 (buying) and Rs 169.10(selling).

The buying and selling rates of one tola of gold was Rs. 123,000(selling) and Rs122,900 (buying) in the local Sarafa (gold) markets of twin cities of Islamabad and Rawalpindi.
