Pakistan all-rounder Mohammad Hafeez has apparently breached biosecurity protocol after posing a photo with a fan.

The veteran cricketer posted the photo, taken on the golf course adjacent to the hotel site at the Ageas Bowl, with a caption: “Met an inspirational young lady today morning [sic] at golf course. She is 90+ & living her life healthy & happily. Good healthy routine."

While, players are permitted to use the golf course despite the COVID-19 concern, they have been advised to avoided interaction with anyone outside the biosecure bubble.

If Hafeez is found to have breached protocols, he would likely have to self-isolate in his hotel room for five days, and return two negative Covid-19 tests before joining back up with the squad.

Hafeez is not part of Pakistan's Test squad, but is on the tour ahead of the three-match T20I series starting August 28.
