Pakistan's intelligence agencies identify major cyber attack by India: ISPR

(Karachi) Intelligence agencies in Pakistan unearthed and foiled a major attempt of cyber attack by India as it wanted to hack cellphones and retrieve information of government and defence officials, a statement issued by Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) stated on Wednesday.

Pakistani agencies have identified the major cyber-attack by the Indian intelligence agencies involving a range of cybercrimes including deceitful fabrication by hacking personal mobiles and technical gadgets of the government officials and the military personnel.

The ISPR further said that an advisory is being sent to all government departments and institutions in order to trace lapses and enhance cyber-security measures in place.

The statement also said various targets of the attack are being investigated and the Army has "further enhanced necessary measures to thwart such activities" and action against violators of standard operating procedures (SOPs) on cybersecurity will be taken.
