Only 2pc Pakistani households own tablet, 7pc have laptops: reveals Gallup

Only two percent of Pakistani households claim to own a tablet/iPad, and only 7pc of Pakistanis have laptops, revealed a latest study conducted by Pakistan Social and Living Standards Measurement Survey & Gallup Pakistan.

As per the research conducted on laptops and tablets in Pakistan 5pc households from Islamabad and Karachi own a tablet. Provincially, households from urban Sindh boast the highest percentage of ownership (4pc).

The main purpose of this recent Gallup survey was to study the effects of the coronavirus epidemic in Pakistan, how the epidemic made smartphones and other devices a necessity instead of a luxury, and how many people in the country There are laptops and tablets.

The survey is conducted every two years by the Pakistan Bureau of Statistics and covers more than 24,000 families and more than 115,000 people.

If 7pc of Pakistanis who have laptops are broken down on a regional basis, then according to statistics, 2pc of people in Balochistan have laptops. Similarly, a total of 5pc of people from Islamabad and Karachi have laptops, most of them from urban Sindh and Punjab.
