Thailand tenders to buy feed wheat and barley, traders say

HAMBURG: An importer group in Thailand has issued a tender to purchase up to 192,600 tonnes of animal feed wheat which can be sourced from optional origins, European traders said on Tuesday.

The group is also seeking 107,700 tonnes of feed barley sourced from Australia only.

The tender closes on Wednesday, Aug. 5.

The wheat is being sought by Thailand's association of feed mills (TFMA) in three consignments for 2020 shipment.

Some 67,200 tonnes is sought for shipment between Oct. 1 and Oct. 31, 58,700 tonnes for between Nov. 1 and Nov. 30, while 66,700 tonnes is for shipment between Dec. 1 and Dec. 31.

The wheat can be sourced from any worldwide origin, but excluding Russia, Pakistan and Brazil.

The barley is being sought for shipment from Australia in 2021 in three consignments.

Some 27,500 tonnes is sought for shipment between Jan. 1 and Jan. 31, 50,500 tonnes for between Feb. 1 and Feb. 28, and 29,500 tonnes for between March 1 and March 31.
