CBOT soybeans trim on improved crop outlook

  • CBOT August soybean futures settled down 6-1/2 cents at $8.96-1/2 per bushel and most-active November ended down 7 cents at $8.93 per bushel.
  • China booked 126,000 tonnes of US soybeans for delivery in the 2020/21 marketing year, according to the USDA.

CHICAGO: Chicago Board of Trade soybean futures closed lower on Tuesday after the US Department of Agriculture reported improved crop conditions.

CBOT August soybean futures settled down 6-1/2 cents at $8.96-1/2 per bushel and most-active November ended down 7 cents at $8.93 per bushel.

CBOT December soyoil ended up 0.15 cent at 30.68 cents per pound while December soymeal fell $3.60 to finish at $293.30 per ton.

China booked 126,000 tonnes of US soybeans for delivery in the 2020/21 marketing year, according to the USDA.

The USDA rated 69% of soybeans in good-to-excellent condition, up from 68% last week. Analysts had expected 67%.
