Saudi Arabia's King Salman admitted to hospital

Saudi Arabia's King Salman bin Abdulaziz was admitted on Monday to the King Faisal Specialist hospital in Riyadh.

According to state news agency SPA, the 84-year-old ruler is suffering from inflammation of the gall bladder. The agency further said that King Salman is undergoing medical checks.

The Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman — may God protect him — was admitted this Monday to the King Faisal Specialist Hospital in Riyadh to undergo some tests due to an inflammation in the gallbladder. May God protect the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques and bless him with health and wellness", the statement said.

The king has ruled the country since 2015. He also served as governor of the Riyadh region for more than 50 years.
