The spree of targeted killings continued in the city as six more persons were killed in separate incidents at various parts of the metropolis here on Monday. According to police, two bullet-riddled bodies stuffed in gunny bags were found at Korangi Allah Wala Town in the limits of Korangi Industrial Area police station.
Both victims, who received three bullets on their upper torsos, were shifted to Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre (JPMC) for medico legal formalities and then moved to Edhi Morgue till identification. Later, they were identified as Hafiz Abdul Rehman, 18, son of Abdul Ghafoor and Hafiz Noor Hussain, 20, son of Hussain Ahmed. SHO Malik Saleem said both victims were cousins and were living in sector 48-A of Korangi No 2 1/2 and added that they went missing since Sunday afternoon. He said the victims, who were Hafiz-e-Quran, were employed in garments factory. He said the motive of this dual-murder was yet to be ascertained. Police registered an FIR 313/12 against unidentified men on the complaint of state.
A 23-year-old Mohammad Subhan, son of Aslam was found dead inside his rickshaw parked at Mir Mohammad Baloch road in the limits of Baghdadi police station. Police said the deceased, who hailed from Hazara, was living in Ali Mohammad Mohalla in Lyari. He was hit by two bullets on his head and chest. Police suspected that he was associated with the Lyari's gangster Jabbar Jhengu and might have been murdered by the rival group.
The body was shifted to Civil Hospital Karachi (CHK) for post-mortem and later handed over to his family. Following the incident, tension prevailed in Ali Mohammad Mohalla where miscreants took on street and resorted to heavy aerial firing. Later, heavy contingent of police were deployed in the area to avoid any untoward incident.
A young man was gunned down near Al Asif Square Sohrab Goth in the precincts of Sohrab Goth police station. The identity of victim was yet to be ascertained, while he was targeted by unidentified armed men near Al Asif Square. The body was shifted to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital (ASH) for legal formalities and later moved to Edhi Morgue till identification. No case was registered till filing of this report.
In another incident, an executive officer of private TV channel found dead at a local hotel in the limits of Preedy police station. Police said the victim, who was identified as Muhammad Javeed son of Rasheed, was found dead in a room 701 of a local hotel at Preedy police remits. They said the body was shifted to CHK for autopsy. Apparently, the incident was occurred because of food poisoning but the post-mortem report would help the police department to ascertain the facts.
