Message from Consul-General of Japan at Karachi

Published Updated

It is very fortunate and honoured for me to be a part of 60th anniversary celebration of diplomatic relationship between Japan and Pakistan. I am sure Pakistan is one of the countries whose people are mostly pro-Japanese. This is a great asset for Japan and in order to enrich this asset, the first "Japan Fest" took place in Karachi on 10th and 11th of March, 2012 in co-operation with all the Pakistani organisations related to Japanese culture.
This event will continue every year for long-lived friendship between our two countries. The proverb "slow and steady wins the race" seems to be what we really need. In order to achieve shiny goal, we definitely need careful preparations and painstaking efforts to implement it. Grandstanding or show-off type of approach is not the answer. There is no miracle or magic to a viable solution. We should also consider carefully and find an answer from the viewpoint of medium and long terms. At the same time, we have to build strong foundations such as education and vocational training for better human resources, good infrastructures for better economic environment and improvement of law and order situation for safer society.
While making efforts towards such strong foundations, consistent economic policies will be the shortest way to attract foreign investments and to achieve economic development and people's well-being. With all the factors mentioned above are combined, Pakistan will surely grasp the golden opportunity for promising future. Consistent and farsighted policies, robust spring boards for the development and painstaking efforts are the friendly advice from a consul general to beloved Pakistan.
