President Pakistan International Airlines' Retired Employees Association (PIAREA) Syed Tahir Hasan congratulated Rao Qamar Suleman for assuming the charge of the national airline as the Managing Director. He said, "your vast administrative, aviation and technical experience will make the national airline will come out of the present crisis and come forward to meet the present industry's challenges".
The president of the association offered him the services and co-operation of thousands of retired employees of PIA, who possess plausible experience, for strengthening the national carrier, on courtesy basis. He also requested the new MD not to discard the previous management's approval to set up PIA Foundation for the retired employees of the airline, as such a benevolent act shall be remembered by even the coming generations of PIA's employees.
Besides all this, the association also requested the MD PIA to raise the pension for retired employees of the national airlines from current 32 percent to 50 percent, as per government rules. While the pension should also be increased every year in line with the salary increase of the regular employees according to the Admin order of the airlines, he added.-PR
